Tarot Tips: Five of Wands

When trying to create something, regardless of what it is, there will come a time when you face material reality, that is the world at large. In this world few care about your dreams and goals and these might just be the people you need to deal with.

There are rules, financial requirements and other people all quite happy to stand in your way alongside nature and the universal law of being. That is the law that says your needs, desires and indeed life, have no more value than the next guy. It also proves time and time again, that life is what YOU make it. We all start out life's journey with a dream, you may not even be aware what yours is, but you have one. It can be subtle as in living a simple life, it can be visionary as in seeing the lifestyle you will live, and it can be complex as in wanting to make a difference in the world. The numbers of people who don't understand their own vision for life is quite staggering, but for success and happiness on the level you require it, understanding is imperative.

This five suggests you have stepped off the path that takes you to your vision while reminding you of that vision. It asks a fundamental question, what were you expecting? What are your hopes? Are your life choices taking you there? Sometimes this card is a gentle reminder that achieving your dream requires both protecting it and continuing the work to get you there. It is no accident that a complex dream requires flexible input, just as going large in your desires will require massive effort.

If you are not happy, look closely at which part of the dream is not being met, and then ask yourself what you can do, who you need to be and, not or, what sacrifice you are prepared to make. Those working toward their dreams have hard times,  go bankrupt and often lose relationships, but they never question their direction for long. This doesn't mean they don't check in to make sure the path they are on reflects the life they wish to live, and on that note let me explain 'being who you need to be'. I have used this term before and received criticism by those who say you are who you need to be. I am happy to challenge that by saying, you are not being who you need to be, if you are unhappy.

Your dream reflects something in you that is seeking expression, and therefore it reflects something in you that is you. Sometimes living the dream requires you to be more than the person you were taught to be and most times it requires you to meet your potential and learn to be the person you love being.

Animal Energy Therapy Training V.E.T

Working with animals is really quite different than working with humans, it is not necessarily simpler as you will find yourself dealing with the owner, their expectations of both you and their pet’s recovery or performance. After many years of working with everything from birds to cattle I would need to say that the energy you pass on may not be different to what you use on a human, but the way you use it, and your ability to engage the animal become a priority. Owners expect and deserve explanations. To this end it is important in a modern world to know what you are doing, talking about and offering.

The most demanding area I work in was racing stables, performance is the priority reason for being called in, but the welfare of the animal is always being seen to. These people are professionals and require you to be just as professional. You need to make sense and as such you need to be able to read the animal’s energetic information which accesses memory. This will usually come through imagery and directly reading the aura. Anyone can offer energy to their pets, anyone can offer energy to other people’s pets, but professional energy therapists are more in demand in competitive areas of sport animals as well as farmers seeking to minimize vetting of herds.

case studies: 

Rottweiler Aggressive.  Aura Reading found him to be protective of his family and that they owners themselves were a little scared of him,Giving him energy therapy in 30 minute blocks calmed him immediately, Encouraging his owners to learn how to master him saved him from being put down for aggressive behaviours that had him reported regularly. Brutus (yep i know) had 3 sessions with me in 3 weeks, making him very placid during the time it took his owners to sort out a program of doggie ownership.

Race horse, tired not running.  without going to the horse his trainer rang and asked if I felt there was something they were missing as he had thought this was going to be a good runner. I determined that the horse was eating purple flowers that were causing him to have a mild but consistently upset stomach. He went over the property and found a hole in the fence between the trees, on the other side a small paddock (not theirs) full of penny royal. Fence fixed problem solved.

There was a complex array of energy bursts from the horse forehead, I felt he was having a horse equivalent of migraines and that there was a small tumour behind his eye, giving the horse energy therapy, but felt the problem was not going to resolve. Advised a stop to training as he would live a longer and happier life without the stress of training. The trainer was happy but the owner said no. the horse died 11 months later of a hemorrhage in the brain.i 

Calf weakening to the point of not being able to stand no one knew why. gave energy for around 30 minutes and felt he had a constricted throat and couldn't eat. stepped back to the fence line and continued therapy for another 20 mins, at which point he got up and started to eat, he gagged a few times but persisted, we took him to water, where I energized the trough (would last til it refilled), farmer reported the next day it was as if he had never had a problem. 

dairy herd plagued by eczema, worked the whole herd as they went through the milking sheds. encouraged farmer to remove all copper additives to water troughs and invest in mineral licks. problem resolved itself but even better the following year, the farmer got me in at the beginning of the season to be sure when eczema was plaguing the area again. no further issues even though neighbouring farms had major problems.

Cattle dog, old and nearly unable to enjoy last days. Farmer called me in just to be sure, Gave snag (yep snag) energy for 20 mins, next day farmer reports the animal he was considering putting down running with the other dogs, not round cattle but feeling like part of the crew, while at other times over the next week he noted snag was 'pretending to herd cattle' in empty paddocks, i went back once a month for the next 12 months, then the farmer undertook to become a Vibrational Expansion Technique Practitioner. this was decided when seeing a bull freaked out at polling, went up and gave energy, the bull calmed right down and didn't move until they released him all the while i just had my hand on his neck.

Effective Communication

Arguments don't really come from the matter at hand, they come from a focus on one's self and how you feel about the issue, When how you feel about the issue outweighs how you feel about another person or group of people the chances are you will have closed your ears to reason and any attempt at discussion will fly out the window.

You don't avoid arguments, rather you communicate in a way that makes them surplus to requirements. So many people say they hate conflict, the words themselves are inflammatory and indicative of a level of anger, either at self for not being able to stand up and say what you wanted to say, or at the other person for having the words to say what they wished to. Either way the focus is on conflict rather than discussion or even mediation. Conflict is a failure of communication not an outcome of it, it doesn't often represent a true view or expression but becomes a battering ram on the part of either or both parties in getting their way. In any conflict there is an aggressor and a defender, which role do you find yourself playing as a rule?

One thing nearly everyone agrees on, is that when conflict arises the subject at hand tends to get lost in the heat of the moment, in social media we see, every day, those who dissolve without warning into name calling and belief bashing as a means to communicate their displeasure, while never really expressing what they want to see. It has become the norm to criticize and complain (usually with ample whining in various directions) rather than be solution seekers. It is easy to express displeasure but what are you displeased about exactly? Not winning? Not being heard?  If you want to be heard you need to learn how to communicate effectively, without rancour, if you want to win you will always be angry as winning requires a loser and when you come up against a better communicator the chances are you will be that loser. Not because they had a better education or a better point, you only have to watch professional debates to see that isn't the case, but because their words were worth listening to, they didn't get frustrated because they might lose the moment, and they didn't dissolve into personal attacks at the first sign of opposition. You see, opposition is not conflict unless you have to win, it can be an opportunity to explore all avenues rather than limiting yourself to the only possibility you alone were able to think of.

Taking an idea and building on it is the cornerstone of any invention or advancement, it doesn't have to negate the original idea, in fact it can't if it is to be the foundation of a new structure. The ability of communication alone to be the difference between success and failure is underestimated enormously the effectiveness of making even a small change in how you communicate has huge implications.

How you are perceived by anyone starts with how you look, but finishes with how you communicate, it is true the most successful people in the world are amazing communicators. This is the only reason anyone listens to their ideas, invests in their dreams and commits to them personally, not all their ideas were great but they are inclusive of others rather than exclusive, inviting comment, inviting new strategies and information and then building on those. Great communicators are not just great orators, they are great listeners, they listen to their colleagues, they listen to those who have mastered what they are learning, they listen to those who can build on their ideas. They are collaborators and mediators with the ability to use words to show you what you might become, they are inclusive rather than exclusive offering you a chance to be part of the dream. You can't get your way every day but you can certainly take something of value from every exchange.

You can't quit smoking really?

It is possible to be a happy smoker, if you truly don't know what it is doing to you. Otherwise the reason you started smoking doesn't reflect why you continue to do so. Rationalizing or justifying an addiction is standard regardless of what a person is addicted to, as parents we totally disregard that it is addiction itself that we set as an example to our kids not just for cigarettes, but addiction as a lifestyle. There is so much gobbledygook around relieving yourself of a life threatening habit that these justifications get trotted out as fact. Alan Carr said it best when he said, 'Smokers have a cigarette, to feel like a non smoker feels all the time.'  

I am not a conspiracy theorist, but if i was one the last thing i would do is smoke, as the corporate level lies and manipulations of facts, along with horrendously high profits has meant that countries like mine can impose 70% excise tax and still make it a worthwhile market, we have outlawed advertising on all levels and the numbers of smokers has reduced dramatically in the last 30 years, but still every service station, dairy and supermarket sells them. The mighty buck overrules any consideration even profit for retailers is miniscule compared to what the companies themselves make. As an ex smoker I am mortified at the hole in my pocket made by twenty three years of fagging up large although the journey back from the addiction and hypocrisy of if all. 

I smoke because I like it has to be one of the most obvious forms of denial out there, I haven't yet met a smoker who didn't whine about the cost and most who have said or thought, 'If i could give up tomorrow I would." Here's a bit of news that may shock you, you CAN give up tomorrow, you just need to recognize one little thing. You don't smoke because you want to, no matter why you started smoking, you now smoke because you are an addict.

You don't smoke because it makes you feel like an adult, even if that is one of the many reasons you can find for starting, We were told that only adults smoked, so a teenager can be forgiven for thinking that it is a right of passage, once you become an adult that reason no longer applies. If you thought smoking helped you to fit in it would be clear to you by now, that friendships are not created or held together by smoking but rather by actually liking each other, go figure. 

For a number of years now I have heard smokers say that quitting smoking is harder than anything other drug. seriously? a few weeks of mild discomfort and it is all over try experiencing the DT.s of quitting alcohol and if you haven't seen heroine footage of withdrawal have a look you have to be bonkers to use that one as a reason to keep smoking I say, but then addiction does that, it makes excuses for itself and hunts down a reason to continue. My favourite is the stress factor so lets get that one out of the way immediately,you don't light a smoke because you are stressed, you are stressed because you need a cigarette.

In a recent consultation with a person who wanted to quit, was emotionally devastated because she was still a smoker while being a protagonist for healthy living . I asked her if she had thought about not having her next cigarette? she surprised herself by saying no she hadn't considered not having that next cigarette, Not smoking was an abstract idea and so hypnosis would not have worked well for her. There is a noticeable and ongoing sense of achievement that lasts for many years when a person lets go of feeding a corporation and denial of self harm, I believe this is because your body rejoices in a choice that can only mean a longer happier life. 

If you are thinking about quitting but haven't got around to it or if smoking has got to the point where it is having a noticeable affect on both your wallet and your health all you need to do, is step away from the cigarette packet. Meditation, Mindfulness and YOU

  Meditation and mindfulness is promoted as a power to help people put stress out of their minds and live for the moment to reduce fear and anxiety, while allowing the practitioner to be more aware of their space and impact on the world and those around them. The treatment can itself trigger mania, depression, hallucinations and psychosis, psychological studies in the UK and US have found.  one in 14 of them suffered ‘profoundly adverse effects’, according to Dr Miguel Farias, head of the brain, belief and behaviour research group at Coventry University and Catherine Wikholm, a researcher in clinical psychology at the University of Surrey.

He said: ‘The assumption of the majority of both TM [transcendental meditation] and mindfulness researchers is that meditation can only do one good. ‘This shows a rather narrow-minded view. How can a technique that allows you to look within and change your perception or reality of yourself be without potential adverse effects?
The answer is that it can’t, and all meditation studies should assess not only positive but negative effects.’ minfulness bias

If you don't want to know more about this perhaps the ideal of mindfulness could use a bit more work, if you are selling the idea then it is a good time to determine your qualifications to do so. Dr Deepak Chopra is a proponent of TM and mindfulness, there is nothing better, he suggests, than letting your mind go into that blank space of nothingness, he is qualified to aid you in discovering that place, he has teams of specialists at his disposal and more than that, over 40 years as a doctor in his experiential bag, but does he leave everything to the meditative solution? the answer is no he does not, he encourages that you discover what you need within but also provides guidance, a listening ear to help with the discoveries and himself sells recorded guided meditations that direct you to live with a greater belief in yourself.

Self diagnosing on the net and then self prescribing with free youtube resources can bring its own problems as when you are in that depressive space or stressed out to the max, you may not be the best person to select treatment, it is easy to go for what appears to be the quick fix and completely miss the point. As an hypnotherapist i love meditation techniques and of course the process of hypnosis, the results are truly dynamic, it has to be said that many times after consultation, I am the one choosing both the target and most effect program due to the natural desire of the client to reduce symptoms. From my perspective those symptoms will disappear once you have eliminated the cause, I am comfortable saying that many failures with hypnosis are purely about not seeking the right target. I can remember a lovely man who came to me for smoking cessation, as we started his induction he suddenly sat up in the chair and asked me to hold his hand, when i asked him why he said, " my dad used to light a cigar after a good day and let me sit on his knee, this didn't happen often, only when he was celebrating success." Clearly he was not going to stop smoking if I used a toxicity technique as in his early years he could identify smoking with both success and love, it was time to find a new target to achieve what this man desired.

Even with Energy Therapy when a client is in pain, I find myself encouraging them to focus on the big picture and not use the energy like a painkiller (and yes this does work) as it will only be a success in the short term, that over a matter of weeks the pain will return, Energy does not know where to go as so many love to say, it goes in your body, where you direct it. If you consciously want a particular result or have a mistaken idea of what the core issue is, you won't get elimination, you will feel much better for a while though. This specifically is why entering a single directed program can have more benefits than you can possibly imagine, whether you are trying to evolve an already okay life, heal the past or rejuvenate a flagging body it is worth seeking out the professional who can provide what you need and guide you through the pitfalls, one of which is being in an ongoing cycle of trying to heal yourself.

When I first started meditating on a regularly basis, I had no plan it just happened and for the next 12 months i was meditating for somewhere in the region of 6 hours a day, not all at the same time you understand, first thing in the morning when i woke, periods during the day while the kids were at school and at night to fill my evening after the children were in bed. It was an accelerated learning period for me, but it was painful. There were times i refer to as 'the cringe', these were those raw moments where i recognized my own behaviours in full detail, they were genuinely horrible. There were times when I heard huge cracks like lightening just a few inches from my body, and still others where I experienced smells, sounds and feelings from another time. These would sometimes take days or weeks to come back from so I would meditate some more. There were times i was exhilarated and others in ecstasy. sometimes there were mind blowing creation realities and yet others where the sorrow of my own life overwhelmed me. Over time my days became freer and I was on top of the world, and then the bubble would burst open and reality of the world beyond would challenge my new found emotional freedom. I personally believe everyone can benefit from being guided through the relevant areas of this but I only had inadequately trained spiritual advisors, mediums, seichim and reiki masters, who could not answer my questions about my experiences, who had not warned me of the potentials of such deep and committed introspection. I fumbled my way through learning about energy, and then fumbled for a few years doing readings and energy work, until the realization dawned, that I was not particularly interested in helping others to have a 30 minute wow, but preferred the idea of a deep and abiding life change that could enhance the life experience. The energy work had already pushed me to do an anatomy and physiology course but I was drawn to something a bit deeper following the drive to train in Clinical Hypnotherapy and to learn the effect of language, both the language I use with clients, but also hearing the words they use to explain themselves or ask for help. Reading the aura and seeing energy changes in the body as a person spoke to me was a bonus as I had discovered over the years, that if you did not know how to interpret that back to your client in an effective way, you could not help them progress. nyehh enough about me.

Before engaging on a program of meditation and mindfulness, make sure you have the help you need, not only in finding the right balance and target but also in being able to relate the experiences you have back to someone who can help you to deal with them. Go in open eyed and ready to take a few blows to your inner belief in who you are or the story you have been selling, and then don't let yourself sit there, giving up because it is too hard, push on through the pain to gain the rewards you are seeking. Don't lie to yourself, a solid meditation practice can improve your attitude, your health and your lifestyle, but it doesn't fix your life, it doesn't remove lifelong triggers and behaviours when you are challenged. You can relax yourself with a 15 minute self-hypnosis or meditation, you can change your mind set for an interview later, but you will not have done enough to make those changes permanent if you haven't addressed the underlying issues. I know we live in an age where everyone wants everything for free, but it is still true that you get what you pay for, even if you want to do it all on your own, you will benefit from having a professional to talk to (not casual others in an online chat), about what you are going through, or even someone to help diagnose and direct you to finding what is suitable for you. Do beware of bad freebies, there are plenty out there that not only don't work, but inroad your belief in your ability to make any necessary changes. It may not be that meditation or hypnosis don't work for you but that those who produced the one you chose were either not good at it, or the one you chose was not the right one for you.

Life Beyond Healing

Healing should be a short term investment in a happier future, yet many get so caught up in the ideal they buy (quite literally) into years if not a lifetime of heartache. I maintain that any program you choose to put grief, guilt, anger and fear behind you should be successfully completed in no more than a year, no matter what you are doing, if you are doing it two, three or ten years later, it is time to rethink your healing strategy. Sometimes the focus on self healing can be so intense and sustained that those who engage in it are not available to those around them, marriages break down, finding a great relationship gets further away, there can be a sense of isolation because the thought in ones mind may be healing, but the focus is always on self. Incorrectly applied your world can become all about you rather than all about living, and yes there is a difference, a very lonely difference.

Self Attunement

Seeking attunements to single frequencies can be a fairly costly as well as unsatisfying exercise. I have genuinely lost count of the number of reiki master/teachers who have come to train in V.E.T. seeking a practical learning environment as professionals seeking to carve out a career. While in the past all the emphasis was on attunements to reiki, seichim and many other modalities, in truth a person seeking an expanded experience can find themselves without the tools and training to use the energy they have newly employed and at times have not even been shown how to integrate these new frequencies while being offered the title of master and even teacher devaluing both titles. While attunements are a necessary part of any energy therapy program they are second to the teaching of how to use those energies effectively.

In itself aligning with new frequencies is not a skill but it does have benefits. If you are hoping to create a career as an energy therapist or become an amateur sharing energy with others, I would always suggest you train properly as you would in any endeavour that had the potential to affect others lives, it is the lack of training in those claiming to be professionals in their field that is of major concern in the esoteric industry, but. too much attention is paid to charging for an attunement when you can seek this out for yourself while also, for many, they find themselves in situations/moments that trigger an expansion.

If you are seeking to develop personally an expanded energy will help to heal certain emotions although you can't really choose which, it will give you the potential to become enlightened, finally understanding what may have been years of pain or trauma as you move past the patterns created. It has the potential to open your energy to non local information, visions, and feelings of euphoria while also making your essence available for scrutiny and enjoyment. Be advised this is not always a painless process if you need guidance get it.

For those seeking spiritual development all of the above can, and is likely, to still be part of the process though you can add to that enhanced connection with guides, people with the knowledge you require and improved clairvoyant abilities in any area you are attracted to, it cannot give you the necessary skills of counselling others, compassion or even understanding of how to help someone in a crisis. I mention this because in any training program these are elements that should be there as no one really needs to be taught intuitive abilities only the process of engaging it reliably, and using it conscientiously or in the case of energy therapies, diagnostic techniques and solution based therapies. I have heard some truly awful responses to questions that were genuine and indicated a very real issue in a caller or querants life.

Learning Tarot: healing with the cards

It is an amazing gift being able to look objectively at your self, in essence this is part of the tarot potential that is rarely used. Too often they are used to validate (unfortunately open to interpretation) or negate a current belief. What if you could take your deck and turn it into a healing tool? Well you can and while you are at it, explore the full potential of your life in ways you cannot do when trying to work with issues in full blown belief mode.Our beliefs shape our interpretation of nearly everything, trying to heal yourself is like trying to edit your own writing, you see what you expect to see. Self healing of any sort requires brutal honesty and a preparedness for a few ouchies on the way, but the rewards are totally worth it. Using the tarot to find a point of healing doesn't rely on a situational question, in fact that would be detrimental to the process.

 The question to ask? What do I need to heal right now? Thats it, no situations, no directive emphasis. If you are feeling a need to heal anything at all, it will be in play and will affect your life, it is rare for something to only affect one area of your life as your issue will be felt across all aspects including the decisions you make. If you want to be happy and successful, you can only look to what you can do differently, what you can heal and what understandings or enlightenment you can attract to be able to do so. With any question of healing there will be what needs to be changed or recognized and sometimes admitted, that is the first question. The second question will deal with what you can do, to ensure the change or healing takes place, it will be relevant to your capabilities and the desired outcome even if you are not clear on how that will play out or what it is.

The fascinating thing about healing as I have seen it through the years is that it isn't often what a person believes they need for the situation, as an Hypnotherapist I have had many clients come to have sleep hypnosis only to find they gain success with anxiety hypnosis. With Energy Therapy many have come wanting to resolve pain in their bodies only to find they have resolved fear, or gained perspective on a past experience and voila, the pain in the body disappears. With Aura readings i have seen people without a sense of self value blossom before my eyes as confidence in who they are is restored after years of verbal or other abuse. In the area of psychology we have what is called the presenting issue, this is the thing a person thinks is wrong which is usually just a symptom of the underlying cause, or as I call it, the core issue.

                         3: DO THAT

Following through can initiate a life changing period that doesn't last more than a few weeks with the results being felt for the rest of  your life, at least in that area or aspect of your persona. While there may be a number of issues for some, most of us have one underlying false belief that when shifted makes our world a better place. You can always go back at some time in the future and deal with the lesser stuff or other stuff depending on your perspective, but this is not a thing you need to do regularly or in an ongoing fashion, to try this weekly or even monthly is to show you have not taken the time to put the right amount of consistent effort to finish an unsatisfactory chapter in your life. It is not for others to heal you, it is not for a partnership to take your mind off who you are, but for  you to take the reins that lead you into wondrous places while attracting the good things in life.
